36 students from the 5 partner universities of the project, and 22 lecturers were gathered for two weeks around the theme of organic viticulture and oenology. More than 10 countries were represented!

Lectures, workshops, tasting and field visits: an intensive and comprehensive programme had been prepared by our colleagues from HGU. Students had the opportunity to visit several wineries and the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage site of Oberes Mittelrheintal. A European organic wine tasting was organized during the second week, allowing students to discover a variety of organic wine samples.

This is the first Summer School of the OENOBIO Strategic Partnership funded by Erasmus +. Two other summer schools are scheduled, in 2020 in Tarragona, Spain (URV) and in 2021 in Torino, Italy (UNITO).

The next OENOBIO event is scheduled on 18th November 2019 in Bucarest, Romania: a conference around the theme of "Progress and challenges of organic viticulture and winemaking".
